Minnesota Orchestra audio recordings, 1925-

This collection is an incomplete set of recordings made by the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Minnesota Orchestra. The master audio tapes in Series 12.1 are generally 10" reel-to-reel tapes and require careful assessment. Reformatting may be required. They are from the tenures of Maestros Skrowaczewski and Marriner. The 50+ tapes in Series 12.2 are mainly 5" and 7" reel-to-reel tapes that also require appraisal and reformatting. They are mainly from the era of Maestro Skrowaczewski, but a few are from the 1940s and early 1950s. The records (78 rpm and 33 rpm) and compact discs in Series 12.3 and 12.5 are generally in good condition. Included in the collection is a copy of the first recording made by the Orchestra in 1925 under Henri Verbrugghen that features "Waiata Poi."

ca. 300 recordings.
